Outhouse is delighted to announce Arthouse, our inaugural online fundraising event.

Arthouse is a live and online contemporary art auction. Arthouse features an eclectic collection of artworks. All artworks are donated in a collective effort to raise much-needed funds to Keep Outhouse Open and continue to be a safe space for the LGBT+ community and allies.

Arthouse is showcasing a diverse range of affordable and investment artworks. Original paintings, limited edition prints and sculpture will be represented in Arthouse. Collectable artworks by renowned artists will be offered for auction in addition to many more covetable works.

KEEP OUTHOUSE OPEN

Outhouse is a community and resource centre for LGBT people, their families, and friends. Like many other community centres and businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, Outhouse closed the doors to our building on March 12th, in line with Government recommendations. In an instant, all the income from our social enterprise ceased completely and it has been near zero ever since as we have had minimum opportunity to Keep Outhouse Open.

Outhouse Staff and Board are doing everything we can to Keep Outhouse open for our community. However, this is just the first step in a long battle for us. Our capacity to generate income will be severely hampered so long as the necessary Covid-19 restrictions are in place. The ability of our centre to operate at full capacity is some way off in the future.

Re-opening will bring increased costs for us with minimal income to offset these costs. However, we are determined to do this. We will take every step possible to keep Outhouse open but we will need your help. For the first time in 23 years, we are directly asking you, our community for help.

Arthouse Auction Details

Arthouse will be a timed Online Art Auction will take place from:
3pm, Wednesday 28th October to final bids starting at 3pm on Sunday 8th November

• Arthouse will open for viewing and bidding on Wednesday 28th October at 3pm.

• The auction will start to close bidding from 3pm on Sunday 8th November

• Although the timed auction starts to close at 3pm, it will take 1 minute per lot to close from the first lot onwards. You can bid right up until the final lot closes.s

• To avoid disappointment should you choose to bid on artworks:

  • *Register early

  • *You may not be verified to bid if you register on the day of the auction(s).

As part of the auction, Hannah will be donating three limited edition photographic prints from the series EQUAL, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Keep Outhouse Open fund.
